Just got new bedroom carpet fitted. A bargain 80% wool reduced from £300 to £99

Carpet fitter said it will last for 10 years plus

OH had picked a red one that he talked me into was only £30 cheaper but I kept thinking about it

I felt it looked cheap and decided if I kept thinking about it I wouldn't have liked it when it was down

Went back to the shop and swapped for this one its so thick :-D :-D

Now to furnish the empty room
We have the girls today and F is helping grampa tidy up "her" bedroom She was with us when we went to change the carpet

She wanted a bright pink sparkly one :-)

Well folks,

Just sorted my e-mail at long last !

When I said there were over 21,000 - I have now realised that they were just the 'unread' ones - there were MANY more !!!

They have now all gone !!! ;-) :-0 :-D :-D

I might well be back in the land of the living ;-) :-D

Well I have to confess I'm guilty of posting about the same people more than once.

I've been off GR for quite some time and recently re-subscribed. People have been kind enough to respond to my request for assistance and gently draw my attention
to the fact I asked the same questions in 2012. I apologise.

Thank you SO much Maureen - I have crisped it up under the grill !!

I hardly noticed the 'green' bits ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hello David and welcome <3

Well - I can't find her on 'the dark side' but that is not unusual for me ;-)

Anyway, the important thing is that she has managed to get on there so she must be feeling a bit better ?? :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Unbelievable!!!!!

Just had a new toilet delivered, came on a pallet and the big burley man left it on the drive and started to walk off!

I shouted him back and asked if he could bring it into the hall and he told me he was not allowed to.

I told him I stand no chance of lifting it, not with my psoriatic arthritis in my hands. Told me again he was not allowed to lift it.

I said that I would have to ring someone to help and started to close the door. He then walked back and started separating it into smaller bits and put it in the hall

Bless him

I know about H&S/manual handling and such but seriously how do they expect a woman to get it into the house!

David

David Report 20 Oct 2015 07:58

H&S rules are OK in the obvious situations but there are times when
common sense should prevail.
He should had a little sack barrow to wheel it to your door GINS

Gee Report 20 Oct 2015 19:00

Thanks David

I agree, there should be some way of getting it into the hall. What happens when the plumber comes to install the loo and needs to get it upstairs!

At the very least, it should be mentioned on the website that it will be left outside.

GINS, recommend this to the sales and traffic departments of the merchants

you buy from. It's not only good manners it's good sense, pays dividends. ;-)

Thought I better pop in and say hello.

Poor Fred was on page 4 :-(

I am getting better slowly and going out for a walk every day to build up my strength.

M and L are coming for lunch tomorrow so lots of cuddles are planned :-D :-D :-D :-D

Travel was really bad this weekend

Roads 'closed'

Took three/half hours as opposed to 1/14 to get to Wales

Dea

Dea Report 23 Nov 2015 07:25

That was a long trip Ginns - I hope you had a good time <3

I hate this cold weather - If it wasn't for having to pick up the grandchildren from school I would hibernate for the winter and never go anywhere ;-)

I quite like winter Dea but snow and ice is a real pain in the butt

Had a great time as always and dropped off a whole bunch of Christmas and birthday cards. I can't tell you how many never arrive when we post to Wales :-|
