Hi there,

Just doing some research on Find My Past and can't seem to open the image of this will. Can someone else try? Perhaps if you can open it you would be willing to email me over?

Thanks in advance,

The image doesn't open for me, either

best bet would be to contact FMP, by using the report image fault option

Hi Peter

What year is that probate record?

Peter

Peter Report 24 Jul 2014 12:07

Not sure as it isn't indexed but if you search the Cheshire wills for Robert Brett, only two results come up, the other being for a DEFINITE ancestor in 1723. Again, for some reason can't open this. If you can find and open could you send both?

Other wills are opening so not sure what is wrong there.

Do you know which century we are looking at as there are a few at Ancestry not all in Cheshire though?

Peter

Peter Report 24 Jul 2014 12:48

It is from Find My Past - one for 1723 and the other isn't dated on the index. I don't think you would get the will from ancestry anyway, only from Find My Past.

Gee

Gee Report 24 Jul 2014 12:53

Wills are indexed at Ancestry from 1384 - 1966

Not seeing one for your man though

Ah thank you - but the wills for Cheshire on Find My Past, are the actual wills themselves. And can be downloaded. Thank you for looking.

Can anyone else find the wills mentioned, please?

On Ancestry, most of the wills from this early date are fully available to view.

I have viewed one from the early 19c.

It is the later ones where you only get the Probate data.

I didn't realise that to be honest. I'll have a look!

Are the ancestry wills for Northamptonshire?

I am looking for the will of a Joseph Pretty from the 1830s in Maxey along with the wills of Richard Vickers and Mary Vickers in 1809 and 1816, again in Maxey.
