Hi All,

I am looking for the parents of my partner's Great Grandmother Eliza Baker and having no luck at all... so please help if you can!

Eliza Baker (I think middle name is Ellen) born in Dec 1872 in Birmingham. No mother's maiden name on birth record.

Eliza married Robert T Elkington in Dec 1890 in Aston, Birmingham.
They had 12 children but only 5 lived. My partner's Grandmother is Ivy Elkington.

Any help would be very welcome....

Thanks,
Emily

Thanks for quick reply GlitterBaby...
Any ideas why Robert has two surnames, Garlington and Elkington?

Could these be the same people? Is 'Jno' meant to read Joe for Joseph?? :-S

Marriage was mistranscribed on Ancestry so a member has done a name correction for Robert.

Image is Elkington

All the baptisms for their children just show her as Eliza.

Why do you think she might have had a middle name ?

On the 1911 Census there is a Robert T Elkington in Aston showing his wife as ELIZABETH, could this be them?

12 children born and 5 living 7 died.

Ivy is there with a birth registered according to FreeBMD Q2 1909

The birth record I found on here and on Freebmd both said Ellen... record 6c 42

I think I've got it all now thanks as I already had George as Robert's father and if Eliza's father is Joseph, he married a Hannah in 1860 which fits with Yvonnes reply...

Thanks both xx :-)

Thanks, I already have those, Jack was Ivy's twin and there have been twins in every generation since including my partner!

Ok Emily. I guess you will have to get that marriage cert for Eliza to establish her father's name and then work from there.

I checked FMP but there is no image on there for this marriage I'm afraid.
