On his navy paper Port Div. Chatham, No.dx407789 Shoe Repairer, Hereford. R.C.
NOK Rose Wathen (sister) 6 Bells, Abertillery.
He married Mary Ford in Aberdeen 1947.

William Charles Lewis was born 22 July 1925 to Alice Matilda Lewis (nee Thomas) and Thomas Lewis, Jam Manufacturer.


It does indeed look as if the two Alice Matilda's could be the same person, and that she and Thomas were not married, but that Thomas Lewis acknowledged that he was the father of William Charles ......... in other words, a common-law marriage.
