Could someone have a look at this passenger list (dated 1901, from Australia to NZ)
at the name below 'Edna D Webb', this will be her 20 month old sister. I cant work out her first name.

familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11578-33845-70?cc=1609792

thank you in advance for your efforts.

Sorry, Jeannie, I can't make it out. I thought it might be Beatrice or Bernice, but the first letter is nothing like the Bs on the image.

brigid Report 15 Oct 2014 13:08

I thought it was Minnie but not sure if 1st letter is a M
it looks like it ends icie although I've seen dots on i s belonging to a letter further back before
can you find the family on later census ? what are parents names ?
or a death record just by looking under Webb

If you look at the W in Webb for Edna, I think it might be Winnie?

Brilliant, RR - I went goggle-eyed trying to make it out.

thank you all for your eagle eye looking at this
yes i could not find another sibling of edna dorothy Webb born in australia either, in NSW or in Queensland.

i will now undertake a search of the NZ records to see if i can find her.
unfortunately there are no census returns to look at.
I Have checked the electoral rolls in the hope that she was registered with her parents but no luck.
William Henry and Agnes Fanny Webb, (her parents) lived in various places around NZ until their deaths.
Dorothy married Alexander Hall and lived in Auckland.

Thanks again for looking.

I am the granddaughter of winnie webb, she is a cousin of Edna webb, not sister. William and Agnes were her uncle and aunty, and bought up my grandma as her mother died soon after her birth. Agnes went to australia with Dolly to collect my grandma from bundaberg when she was about 20months old.

Welcome to the boards, Lynne.

As it's over a year since Jeannie started this thread, she's probably not looking for replies here now.

You can try sending her a private message by clicking on her name at the top of her post.
If she still uses the email address she registered with GR, she will be notified that she has a message from you.

Thanks Argyllgran, we have now made contact, and the missing piece of the jigsaw has been solved. Able now to pass on photos that I have of the two sisters at various stages of their growing up. Success.
