Presumably this is about your missing, adopted, brother.

If you haven't already, find his birth reg on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/
Create a free email account such as @gmail, @hotmail etc and leave a message. Should he or current rellies come across the entry they could send you a reply. Do the same with the entry of your mothers marriage, and if you've managed to find it, the one for her birth

Make sure you have added your and his name to the Adoption Contact List
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register
as well as any other 'missing you' type sites you can find.

Assuming you know which agency or SS dept handled the adoption, see if they will add a letter from you to his file. If he has already accessed it, they might be willing to pass it on.

On the off chance that someone related comes across this thread someday, add a few more relevant details to the OP. Make sure that GR always have your current email address. That way, even if you have allowed your sub to lapse, someone can always click on your name and send you a message

Advice given about how to proceed.....seemingly not noticed

If you're looking for a half-brother who shares YOUR mother, you must know her first name, so why have you named two of Leo's daughters?

Jacqueline Report 23 Dec 2014 12:54

Have you done the most obvious things..........looking in search trees on here, and putting YOUR tree on here?

Annemarie Report 23 Dec 2014 15:48

I know her name is Patricia but has been none to use Florence, yes my sister Clare and daughter are on gr as well as a Diana who claims she's no connection but has me ,mother and father in her tree :-)

If Diane has no connection with you, you can request her to remove your and your sisters names from her tree.

If she refuses, GR will do so if requested. That applies to any other name that you know for sure is still living and have not given their permission. She could be a 'name collector', twigs of twigs and all that!

I would doubt that she'd use her sister's name when registering the birth of her own child.........and in any case, the correct first name would surely be on the child's adoption file...........wouldn't it?

If the child has accessed his file, he will know the correct name for his birth mother, so should be looking for her under that name
