Genealogy Research Assistance who ran the brilliant Christmas competition, which some of you entered (one GR member won a prize) have now launched their website.
Now you no longer have to use FB to access their great team.

Slight hiccup on registering.

Activation email was quickly received.
Clicked on link but says Invalid activation key.

So how do I get a valid activation key ?

Sorry to hear you have had a problem accessing the site.

If you try logging on first to see if it works then if you still have problems please contact the office by using the "contact us" on the site.

Can not login.

Does not recognise my user name or password. Tried the 3 times I was allowed.

Tried to ask for new password
Get this displayed: ERROR: Invalid username or e-mail.

Strange but google does not find the site at all. Only shows the link to FB page

I had to use the link from the FB page to find the new site

Found the site by searching on google for genealogyresearchassistance (ignored the facebook links)

(Just in case you do not use facebook, or Linda's link does not work)

Managed to register, got activation email, and logged on.

Added:
Possibly google does not find it under 'genealogy research assistance' as it is a new site and there are lots of other hits that will take precedence?

Okay got in this morning.

I thought that when I put in my username I had put spaces between the words.
WRONG. So it was my mistake.

Very impressed with layout and all the copies of certificates that you can view to see what information is shown on them.

The link is in the opening post, bluey green in colour like the board names, so just click on it and you will get to the site.

On the Registration form under the heading Profile details you have the "Name" and the "About". What are you supposed to put in the about bit? Sorry I am being a bit thick here.

I have just completed the registration page and it won't accept my password/ username.

For a site that is supposed to be so good. Why am I having so many problems joining.

I have received the activation email and tried to get in through that but it wont let me.

I think I shall give up.

Jane, it is a very new site, though the FB page has been doing good work for years. I believe that there are a few teething problems with activation emails for some but someone will get back to you asap. :-)

I signed up yesterday and got the activation e-mail and logged in straight away without any difficulty-so it does work :-)
