Date of Death when and where
I cannot find a death cert. for my Grandfather (paternal) born 10th Nov 1882 in
Boroughbridge UK. the last date I have of him being alive is 1936 according to court papers and at the time a resident in Boroughbridge his mother is buried there.
My parents marriage cert. in 1942 show him as deceased so his age at death would
be between 54 and 62. I have looked at a number close options in BMD and none have fitted.
What would be the reasons for no death Cert. ?
any suggestions or places to look for further info
would be much appreciated

Tony
P.S. his name is Arthur Beedham

There has to be a death certificate.

Suggestions for you not finding it are

mis-spelling of his name

not a wide enough search ...... your father might have lost touch wiht his father and thought he was dead

PLUS ........... have you been looking on here (GR)??

You should always use the following site for all bmds from 1 July 1837 to ca 1970

www.freebmd.org.uk

it's free, and the site that we all use.

so they divorced in 1936 have you looked for a possible remarriage after then

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 25 Apr 2015 23:51

I did see that there are several trees on ancestry that have him on there.

None however seems to have his death

Tony .............. in saying that there had to be a death certificate, I was assuming that he had indeed died in England or Wales.

I was also thinking of the possibilities of Beedham being mis-interpreted as Leedham, Needham, etc

You would have to look elsewhere if he moved to Scotland (on Scotland's People, a pay-per-view site), an Irish site, or see if there are records of him travelling overseas.

I did not see any records of travel, but will check ancestry again

I have re-checked, and he does not appear in the Passenger Lists leaving or returning to the UK
