I am trying to trace what happened to Nora .She came to South Africa just after WW1
If anyone has any information I would like to hear.
She was the daughter of my G-uncle,Henry Graydon.
I have also found that there is a place called Graydon in the Western Cape.If anyone knows how it got its name I would be interested to hear.
Garth Graydon!

According to this, Graydon is a farmstead - but Eastern Cape - is it a different place from the one you mean, Garth?:

Thanks for all the replies.
Norah was born in Chorlton and was at Holywell orphanage Unfrotunately records from there appear to have disappeared.Hadn't previously come across the info on her mother being in Withington so thanks.
As far as we can tell she did go to South Africa with her mother but have had no luck finding out where she went after that.
Have tried to find out if there are any records of nursing staff from that period in SA or rhodesia that might trace her mother(and possibly her)
As for the farmstead called Graydon I have no idea if it means anything but was wondering about the coincidence.
Thanks
Garth
