Please can anyone help with a birth of Bridget Foley born approximately 1859 in Limerick Ireland. I am not sure even where I would start! I am hoping to get names of her parents and any siblings. I hope someone can help.

It's a subscription site.
Perhaps one of the helpers here has a sub and might be able to find her.

What else do you know about Bridget?

Any clue might help!

There's a tree on Ancestry for a Bridget Foley, c1859, Limerick, who married Frederick Richard Brett and had 14 children.
Does any of that sound like your Bridget?

The tree owner doesn't know Bridget's parents' names - or at least hasn't put them on the tree.

Thank you ArgyllGran yes that sounds like my Ancestors, I have information on Frederick but not Bridget. Any help would be fantastic. I may have to subscribe to Ancestry as well as GR!

Is this your Brett/Foley family? Gives a marriage year which would be useful for finding father's name perhaps.

Ah I see there is an old thread with that marriage mentioned on it

http://www.genesreunited.co.za/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1272970?d=desc&page=0

Was that the right marriage and did you get the cert Oldbean? if so did it give father's name for Bridget?

oldbean

oldbean Report 16 Oct 2015 21:34

Thank you Rambling Rose, this is the family, I think the best is to obtain a marriage certificate. Thanks again.

Oh and thank you I have just been on the thread and that is definitely my family. I did know about Victor but not Frederck and why he should be in Irekand, that is a brilliant piece thank you so much.

Thanks Malyon but I don't believe this is a family match, would be exciting but nowhere in the general scheme does it look to be so.

Looks like Frederick could have been in the Army at time of marriage, the fact Bridget was listed as Church of Ireland could have been a mistake or easier for them to marry if she said she was a non Catholic as she was not in her home Parish.
