I think this might be the couple who married in 1876, going by the ages for the couple in the 1876 marriage that I posted, with the bride aged 19, and the groom aged 22, in 1876.

Census 1881

36, Wynyatt Street, Clerkenwell, Holborn, London, England

Andrew Gray Head Married Male 26 1855 Mattres Maker (Cabt Mkr) Scotland
Jesse Gray Wife Married Female 23 1858 - Birmingham, Warwickshire, England
Andrew Jno Gray Son Single Male 4 1877 - Middlesex, England
Albert Geo Gray Son Single Male 2 1879 - Middlesex, England

Just to confirm that a Jessie Charles with a father named John Charles (as per the 1876 marriage) was born in Birmingham c1857/58 as per the census for 1881 that I posted (not for the Jessie of the couple that Margaret M posted that seem a bit older).

Beryl, are you sure my Jessie and Andrew are the right couple and not the Jessie and Andrew that Margaret M found?

Kucinta no you are correct .

Kucinta

Kucinta Report 20 Mar 2016 16:09

Margaret - it's only the ages of 'my' couple taken from the 1876 marriage that helped me identify an alternate couple to yours, without that info either of our couples could have been equally viable, that's why I queried it with Beryl to see if she had anything further to help distinguish between them.

Bezzie

Bezzie Report 20 Mar 2016 16:10

Jessie Charles mother was called Sarah

Kucinta

Kucinta Report 20 Mar 2016 16:12

Not sure if this is your two Jessies in 1901 or not. Jessie senior has gone back to being born in Birmingham:

Jessie Gray Daughter Widow Female 42 1859 Bottle Packer Birmingham, Warwickshire, England<<<<<<<<<<<<

Not sure where the other children are, had they left home?

Sorry hope I am not confusing you but my Jessica Charles had a mother called Sarah and she went on to have a daughter called Jessie Gray.....does this help?

Kucinta

Kucinta Report 20 Mar 2016 16:15

Given that Jessie is a widow in 1901, and she was living in Islington in 1891 with her husband, and in 1901 with her mother SARAH Ellen, as I posted tentatively previously, this might be the death for husband Andrew:

Deaths Dec 1900 Gray Andrew 45 Islington 1b 154

The age and location seem to fit, but it is a common name.

Kucinta think that could be the one it says Jessie is a widow could it be that Andrew Gray died if so when? Do you think that this is related to the first entry you put in of the marriage?

Bezzie

Bezzie Report 20 Mar 2016 16:27
