My ancestor Thomas Guy left provision in his will for his relations to be given first acceptance of a place at Christs Hospital 'for ever' (as written).
This decision was abolished by the charity commissioner and made other, becoming, smaller 'presentations for said number of years then they were extinguished....

Was this legal?
Is it something that can be challenged today? And if so where and how?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

I very much doubt it could today be challenged as any intensions would I assume be declared by a public notice placed in a newspaper, anything of that nature surely has to have legal and binding backing paperwork drawn up by a law person....maybe the charities own solicitor.?

A very interesting query and there is plenty written re Thomas Guy's Will and Provision re Christ Hospital I cannot find the one relating to the CC but I would suggest that this may have been relative to the funding rather than the provision of place for any descendants.
I would have to read what was put forward to by the CC to comment further.
Have you seen this ..?
