Changes to Searching
Searching now differentiates between casual visitors and customers

For years casual visitors to the website have been using the full power of our advanced searching to gain very useful information free of charge, while our committed customers who have registered and bought vouchers or subscriptions gain no advantage when it comes to searching. To correct this situation, from 19th October 2016 advanced searching will be available only to users who have purchased at least one voucher within the last six months. Those who haven't will still be able to use the simple name and date searching, but the location information will not be so precise.

All searches of our database continue to be free.

In making these changes to searching we are aligning Deceased Online with normal practices in the on-line genealogy marketplace.
........

One recent example is

Cremation Register summary
last name Rowen
first names Elsie Mabel
Cremation date 21 January 1992
Location Nottinghamshire

Previously it would have said which Crematorium.

it isn't entirely clear how much a voucher or credit costs. Previously the cheapest voucher was £5.

So still £5? Hmm. If they were direct line rellies, may be. Otherwise not.

You can't really blame them.
