Blank records?

Hi
I searched a possible death record for Oliver G (Giles) Sutton born 1967 Leicester and a record came up stating 1993 but the rest was blank? No name, location, year of birth?

Can anyone tell me why this is?
I do not know if Oliver has died by the way it was just a routine check that's all.

Any clues gratefully received

Many thanks
Cassie :-S

Which website did you find that on?

If this is the record you mean (per Ancestry), it's not your Oliver:

Oliver Sutton
in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1916-2007

Date of Registration: Jul 1993

Registration district: Leicester
Inferred County: Leicestershire
Register Number: D53C

Entry Number: 217

Thankyou very much Argylgran!

Must say I'm glad about that!

It was on Genes Reunited.

Still not sure why genes is throwing up blank pages these days. It keeps happening.

I've no idea - I never search for any records on GR - nor do many of us here on the boards.

You could try asking [email protected]

I will do thanks.

Seems to be happening more and more. Which site do most people search from? Can I still use Genes trees etc and message board withough paying subs?

Think I may start using another site.

Regards
Cassie

You can have your tree on Genes with a free subscription and you can read the message boards but you won't be able to post any queries on them without a standard subscription.

Most people on here use either Fidmypast or Ancestry (which need a subscription) and FamilySearch (although their recent records are not as extensive).

Having free credits, I've accessed that record & it seems fine.

We had a problem viewing images on Ancestry at one time & traced it back to the Ad Blocker we used. If you have one, would disabling it on GR make any difference?

Thanks for the info people. Think I'll be changing at renewal time. Ive been having more and more problems with Genes not opening up properly despite using different devices. Genes just say Technical problem but too often now for my liking.

Thanks for the useful info everyone.

there's also the new GRO Index ............. they've digitised the Index records from July 1st 1837 to ca 1916 fro births and deaths.

The births show the mother's maiden name if it is not the same as the child'd
