The old CRB checks have now been changed to DBS....

Why I'm so het up is because I've got to have another check done paid for by the same Council who paid for the one I already have that hasn't expired yet.

It is the same thing - checks on ones suitability to work/help out with children and vulnerable people.

What I can't understand is why there can't be just one check for all activities with a central register of numbers. At the moment every department or community work has to have a seperate one done.

The one I have is for the Restorative Justice mentoring programme and now I need one for the IT teaching for the elderly programme - benefits and pensions now are all to be online rather than post - at least that is the plan anyway.

Oh well another form to fill out......

I guess that there is about as much control over these checks, as there is on MOT's

only legal and applying on the day of the check...........things can be vastly different tomorrow!!!
