I once had to do a home visit to a travelling family
I was a bit wary but when I got there
I was amazed they had three massive caravans
that all fitted together making a massive big home
that was warm and spick and span
to be honest they where lovely people
and their son who I was learning to read
went on to play football for York city :-D

so my guess is they would store them in their caravans

The seating all lifts up in their trailers so guess in there.but would depend if they were static or constanly on the move.

I'm a freeborn man of the travelling people
Got no fixed abode, with nomads I am numbered
Country lanes and byways were always my ways
I never fancied being lumbered

O we knew the woods and the resting places
And the small birds sang when winter days were over
Then we'd pack our load and be on the road
They were good old times for the rover

There was open ground where a man could linger
Stay a week or two for time was not your master
Then away you'd jog with your horse and dog
Nice and easy, no need to go faster

Now and then we'd meet up with other travellers
Hear the news or else swap family information
At the country fairs, we'd be meeting there
All the people of the travelling nation

I've known life hard and I've known it easy
And I've cursed the times when winter days were dawning
But I've danced and sang through the whole night long
Seen the summer sun rise in the morning

All you freeborn men of the travelling people
Every tinker, rolling stone and Gypsy rover
Winds of change are blowing, old ways are going
Your travelling days will soon be over

Where do I put my youngest daughter's wedding dress that's been hanging up in the spare room for the past 2+ months? Where do I put the stuff my son has left in our garage to make way for his new baby daughter and her stuff in their flat? Where do I put the cot that my eldest daughter's left with us now she no longer needs it?

Where do I put my stuff? :-D :-D :-D

:-D :-D :-D Wend.

I've still got my youngest daughter's wedding dress (unworn) from the bloke she didn't marry!

She's been married to a much nicer bloke for 2 years.

Mummy may have to do a bit of e-baying. Unfortunately, I can't take a picture of it being worn, as it's a size 8. Something I haven't been since I was 35. Daughter can't wear it - her baby is due in January. :-| :-D

Stuff them in space saver bags and use them as occasional pouffees :-)

Sounds like you need another shed Wend :-D

Hi Wend, how are you and how's my homeland?

Seal the wedding dress and then pop in a suitcase. That's what i did with mine. No damp has got in and still fit to wear.

When I left home ALL my belongings had to come with me or my mum was going to get rid! So she has virtually an empty loft whereas mine is now pretty full up!

in the hebrides :-)

The dressmaker often brings the dress over the night before or on the day. Watching the Big Fat series it would be impossible to store if it was enormous. :-0

Tulle underskirts squash down well when the hoops are taken out.

My guess is the under skirts are only hired so the brides only have the dress to store.
