Instead of "General Chat" GR should relabel it "Teashop and knitting" and warn that dead parrot jokes and the like are not allowed.
And especially not Mr Cotton.

I'm getting more and more certain that GR people do NOT assess any thread or post that is RR'd ................... I think they don't read any of it, except for the RR's reason for reporting

so away the post or thread goes.

That is demonstrated to me because they no longer send an email to the person affected to say that a post or thread had been removed, and WHY
