I can't be the only one to do this....can I ???

For ages I thought it was "coming in like a rainbow"...which in itself is weird when in fact the correct words are "coming in like a wrecking ball"

Not my fault she doesn't sing clearly :-|

My daughter used to sing "maybe it's because i,m a luncheoner ". for "maybe it's because I,m a Londoner "

She insisted what she sang was correct

Caroline,
Never seen the video for that song?
Miley is definitely not sitting astride a rainbow! LOL

Misheard lyrics?
Anything at all sung by Fall Out Boy.
I used to go to a keep fit type class where the instructor used a Fall Out Boy track for one of the routines
Every week she sang one particular line very loudly.
" Im so Evil, Oh so in Distress"
She then shouted at the class to show their evil faces

Every week my daughter and I went in in hysterics giggling but, we never told her why!
The actual lyrics are
:"The lies I weave are Oh so intricate"

Andysmum

Not sure of the spelling, but there used to be a song called "Obladi, Oblada", which my neighbour's 3-year old used to sing at full volume - O Bloody, O Blood Ar!! :-)

Glasgowlass.......it was seeing the video for the first time that made me go "Oh now that makes a little more sense"......I'm not as daft as I seem....it does sound like rainbow until you see the video honest....honest.... :-( :-S

Caroline Report 8 Apr 2017 16:37

'He makes the night a little brighter' and ,according to my cousin, it was 'the old man blighter.'

OH used to sing Pick a Billy Cotton instead of Pick a Bale Of Cotton (Lonnie Donnegan)

Recently it was pointed out to him, but he still sings it that way! :-D

I'll c&p the actual verse from a Men at Work song

Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover

Now, as discussed on another thread with Caroline until I saw the lyrics in print I always thought that the second line ended with...and men chunder.

Chunder, of course, meaning to vomit. I just thought that it was reference to the Aussie male quaffing quantities of grog :-D

Now I don't feel so bad thanks Allan....now someone; or a gang of someones; is looking for that thread to kill it :-S

Misheard lyrics are officially known as Mondegreens. Why? Apparently from the Scottish folksong about the death of Lord Dunnohu which was usually sung as "they took his body and Lady Mondegreen" instead of "...and laid him on the green"

Just thought you'd like to know that :-S
