Member Since: December 2006 Posts: 64 Send Message	my Uncle Albert Jennings appears with all my other uncles on St Johns ward Roll of Honour, it gives his rank as L / Cpl and then gives his regiment as RSR, could anyone tell me what regiment this might be, he lived in Deansgate Manchester.

	What other info do you have? Without more details its hard to say but hear are 2 options to consider RSR=Royal Sussex Regiment RSR=Raiding Support Regiment (formed i believe durin WW2) Roy Added, Where and when was he born and did he have a middle name

	It looks like (St John's Ward Roll of Honour, Manchester) relates to WW1 Roy

Member Since: December 2006 Posts: 64 Send Message	Hi Roy, do not have any real information, it was first world war and all six of my uncles fought in it. i only know that he was born ( i think ) in 1899, i know he was baptised in that year, i think he would have been living at 8 Grove street, Deansgate Manchester. He was baptised at St Johns church in May 1899, sorry i do not know if he had a middle name.

Member Since: December 2006 Posts: 64 Send Message	Thank you very much Joonie Cloonie,Porkiepie and Kathleen Bell, seems odd that my uncle Albert who was a manchester lad was in a Sussex Regiment. By the way Kathleen i have a Mary Bell in my family tree who married John Oxley in 1841. cheers

	Alan, Although many did serve with local regiments not all did and because of demand and heavy losses men often got posted to which ever regiment needed the manpower. Roy
