Hi Iam trying to found world war 1 record for Henry Hogg.
All that i know is he was born in 1892 at Conningsby Lincolnshire the son of David and Sarah Hogg

Hi Thanks for the information Chris.

Just had a text from my sister and she been told by family that Henry Hogg was in Gallipol and Eygpt in the first world war. Sorry must explain that Henry Hogg is not of my family . He belong to a frend of the family and her dad is very ill nmd we do not think he will see the year out and she wont to tell him about his dad So a very big thank you chris best wishes Sandy

He would most certainly have served in WW1, he would only have been 21 at the outbreak of war.

Even if he did not enlist between 1914 - 1916, he would have been conscripted in 1916.

Unless he was:

A conscientuous objector (then might have been put in prison or used like the Quakers, see below)

A Quaker (they were generally used in Medical or back up duties behind front lines) but even medical staff were on the front tending to the wounded etc., and many were killed performing this vital task.

A Reserved Occupation

Medically or Mentally unfit for Military Service

Think that these are all the reason why he would not have served.
