Is there anyone out there who can tell me how to find out about my fathers forces record in the RAF. I know he was in during WW2 but never shows in the Forces War Records or anywhere else I can find.

WW2 records are still with the MOD and are not online. You can find out how to order them here:-

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records

They will cost £30 and may take several months to arrive.

Hi Carole, do you know what he did, was he on a squadron or a particular airfield? many have their own organisations and societies and people who may have known him and be able to fill out a more detailed history than the bare service record of where and when he served. I'm third generation RAF myself and have found out quite a bit outside of the 'official' sources.
