I am trying to find out details of my great grandfather's military service. from the information I have he was an able seaman in the merchant navy between 1918-1921.
I have a soldier number which is Soldier Number TYNESIDE Z/8278, his name was Thomas Newton Hetherington born c1877, registered in Bradford, on some records is middle name is absent.
Any help would be much appreciated
