	Had to access GR with Mozilla Firefox 5 times over the weekend ...... purely so that I could send pms, which I can't do with my IE6 I got the Error, this site cannot be found 2 times out of 5 I honestly have not had that message when using my poor old IE6 and Firefox is the most recent update. sylvia

	Waste of time putting an Annoucement up about the problems with the site after the event. Could not get on site before the notice was posted. Why are you still adding bits to the site, such as Watch This on a thread, when the site problems have still not been sorted.

	Using Mozilla Firefox ...................... I have just had this message TWICE in less than 10 minutes, once when trying to open the Message Centre to look at new pms, and once when trying to move within a thread Server Error 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. Not had that one with IE6!! so a whole new set of problems for me when trying to use the up-to-date browser. and as someone said elsewhere ...... probably another nail in GR's coffin so far as I am concerned :-( sylvia

	Get the same error message if you try to access the .co.uk site through favourites No problem if you google for Genes Reunited and access that way

	Already sorted it. Did say something like threaded board. Deleted from my favourities. Then went into the site again and put back into my favourites so it opens on Home Page.

	IGP as you seem to know so much ..................... what difference do you think it makes if My Favourites or Bookmarks is set to Home Page or to, eg, Community? It should make no difference at all, surely? Just out of interest ........... I have My Favourites on IE6 always set to Community. Mozilla Firefox was set to Home Page, but I changed it yesterday to Community (just to obviate the extra step needed to then open Community) ......... and had no problem the one time I used it. sylvia

	Sylvia, Most of the information on Community is fixed and adverts. It only has to calculate the totals for the threads. Home page as well as the fixed data has to access your details to find out updates relevant to you, the information for your birth year, hot matches and site usage figures, twitter notes etc, so it takes longer and if the site is slow is more prone to timeout.

	It has just taken me more than 10 seconds to open My Threads ............. using Mozilla Firefox Ten minutes ago, My Threads opened immediately when using IE6 ............... but half the thread titles (and names ) on board summaries on IE6 are now showing as white lettering on pale green background. Which, of course, means that they are all but invisible! Meaning that I have a choice ................ peer at the screen and ruin my eyes, or waste time waiting for things to happen sylvia

	Okay so where was the maintenance annoucement on this site. Only just managed to get on the site after trying since 8.20pm this evening. Kept getting the site was doing essential maintenace messages

	GB There was NO prior announcement of maintenance ......... it just happened! I was on site at the time, went to open a thread and got Sorry We are performing some essential maintenance on Genes Reunited, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Genes Reunited will be back very shortly Thank you The Genes Reunited Team That was around 1:30 pm. The site seemed to be back working within about 15 minutes. However, I haven't been back on here since about 2 pm my time, and it is now almost 9:50 pm ..... so I have no idea what happened in the intervening time. sylvia
