I am working on the Frederick Jolly family. He was married to Ethel Parfitt. I can't tell if I have the right family until I see the marriage certificate then see their two kids. The two kids, Stanton Frederick and Ronald Jolly would confirm. I can't find my Dad, Stan or uncle Ron in birth records. Stanton was born in 1912 and Ron about 4 years later.
They also went to Ceylon when Dad was 9- I found the travel info. On that.
Does anyone have any idea where to look?

Ronald's birth but if they went to Ceylon when your dad was 9 they must have returned before Ronald's birth.

Births Mar 1922 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jolly Ronald H C Parfect W.Ham 4a 192

Edit: Oops just noticed that you said that Ronald was born 4 years after Stan. You also said tha Stan was born 1912 but record says 1913. Don't you have your father's birth certificate?

Also I've never heard of a 1939 census.

If that 1911 census is correct this would be Frederick's parents' marriage:

CARTER Lucy Mary A W. Ham 4a 99
JOLLY Charles W.Ham 4a 99

I could keep going but I'd better wait to hear back from you to make sure I'm on the right track.

I've just realized why nobody else has responded to your request, Diane. We're on he Suggestion Board which is supposed to be for making suggestions to GR to improve the site. Not many people look at this board. Your request should have been on the Find Ancestors board. However we're here now.

Hello Margee,

Yes, you have the correct information. Eileen and Stan Jolly did emigrate to Hamilton Ont. Canada with my brother, Colin. I was born on June 29, 1948 in Hamilton.
My father died in 1999 and my mother, Eileen died in 2013. My brother, Colin died in 2012.
I don' t know where you found the info re Ethel and Fred. I thank you so much. I understand there was no census during the Second World War. Thank you for finding the correct birthdate file Ron Jolly.
I found my parents' English passports when they emigrated. Stanton Jolly was born Dec.25th,1912. My mother would not tell me about her father, George Bunyan who Goya into some trouble. We were never able to prove his death and burial location. :-)
