Hi Guys

I'm researching SALMON family members from Trysull (Staffs) and Codsall (Staffs). Specifically I'm trying to reinforce earlier links with Salmon of Whitchurch and Salmon of Nantwich.

Hello Mike, I remember Charlie Salmon who was engaged in growing flowers beside the women's institute and he lived in the cottage opposite and was a friend of my fathers. He used to take his produce to wolves market in his 1920 austin lorry. I used to take him to market after he ceased driving. His late son John ran the village shop for a time & Charlie's father was during the war &for a few years after the headmaster of the village school. Charlie played football for Wolverhampton amatuers and England as centrehalf' I don't know anything else apart from the fact that John had a son younger than me & I am 72 I left Trysull in 1966 and live in Worcs. I was born at Cherry Cottage our family ran a haulage business Peter Murphy & Son Trysull Ltd Hope this is of any help Regards Philip.

Hi Philip,

I've messaged you directly with thanks. Let me know if you didn't receive it as I've found GR very glitchy for several months now, especially the new format tree.

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Michael - when you say "Whitchurch", which particular Whitchurch do you mean - there are seven in the UK

I'm in Whitchurch, Cardiff and have a Salmon living just up the road from me

Hi Ann

Thanks for responding. I am referring to Whitchurch (Salop) and Nantwich (Cheshire, possibly the Salmons of Wylde Green). I have lots of relatives in S. Wales but on my mother's Herman side, not my father's.

Cheers,
Mike
