"Thank you to everyone who has given feedback regarding the trial of the Help Clinic. We are currently collating feedback and in the meantime will be removing the Help Clinic page. The suggestions we receive from members greatly influence the decisions we make for the site. We will shortly be sending out a survey for suggestions as to how we can improve the message boards and will look forward to your feedback."

............

I got this over an hour ago, but there seems no mention on here yet.

Various people on the research pages have mentioned it.

You don't have to sign up, or 'like' to view, although you won't be able to post.

If the Help Clinic is going to be taken down, should we assume this is prior warning the site will go off line at some point?

I think, if you clicked the 'problem answered' button (or whatever it was called) the messages disappeared anyway! A major flaw to my mind.

Just seen this, thanks for the update Mildred. I do hope they keep the clinic after all the troubles of the past few days. I did think some people were unnecessarily rude to the volunteers and aske them some deliberately provocative questions which were not designed for the help clinic. As. A person who has used Scottish Origins originally and then it's replacement Scotlands People and spent a fortune on it I appreciated the opportunity to ask the volunteers to freely search for some of my illusive ancestors that I could not afford to do because the matches were too numerous. I truly hope that this opportunity has not been lost.

It would have been courteous of this site's staff to have posted it on its own site before posting it elsewhere.

The help clinic remains, but without helpers -
