My Grandparents were in South Africa around the later part of the 1890s'. My Dad and his four sisters were born in Pretoria, in 1902-1910. Are there any Ainsburys' or Harkins left over there please.

You can put the names you know into the search tree box above to see if anyone else on this site has them in their tree. If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner.

The Ainsburys, that went to South Africa, were Caleb & John Edward Ainsbury. They met the Harkins over there, and John Edward married Eliza Jane Harkin, (we think, in South Africa, but when we have no idea). They had five children, (we are led to believe, she lost several more). The names of the children were Kathleen Mildred & Florence (twins) born 8th June1902, Herbert John (my dad) 16th August 1903, Mildred H 14th June 1907 and Bernice 6th January 1910. Some of the Harkin boys were in the Army, and were posted over there. So anymore info that you can gather, I would be so grateful. We think John Edward, might have had an affair over there, and maybe there are more Ainsburys around the Pretoria region! John Edward, and his father were coach builders, and worked on the "blue train
