Is there some one who could please look up my grand father Alexandra Ross he was born 1895 in Aberdeen,He had two brother's Tom and George and a sister Violet ,His father's name was William.I would love to know his mother's name. Alexandra married in 1915 in London but its the Scottish side I would like to know about .Thank you Anne

There are a couple of williams with son alexr but not the other siblings, do you have approx ages for them? Have you got the marriage cert and does it give williams occupation?

You ought to get his b.rego thru ScotlandsPeople. It will have his parents, with mother's MS=maiden surname. It will also have the date and place of their marr, so you'll have enough credits to buy that too - it'll give the couple's parents, again with mum's MSs.
You buy census images thru SP - if you're careful and know what you're doing, 30 credits will get you 5 images of censuses and rego's.
Ancestry has transcriptions of the census, and FreeCEN also has transcriptions - 1841 is complete for ABD, and 1851 is partial (parts of the city of Aberdeen are in the missing transcriptions).

I took a look on Scotland'sPeople for Violet Ross birth and think I've got the right one for the above census......... although nothing to say this is the family you are looking for

Really stupid question but you asked for ROSS and then said the marriage in 1915 was GERRARD - which is the correct surname

Sorry his name is Alexandra Gerrard Ross,And his father's Job was a Game keeper
