I am researching the Balmforths who lived in Leeds. My Great-Great Grandfather Thomas Massiah Balmforth (1855) married Mary Ellen Bennion (1855)at St Peters in Leeds in 1874. As far as i know they had 5 children: James (1876), Florence (1878),Annie (1879), Alice (1880) and Emily (1881). Although i need help filling in some gaps... I think James married a lady named Florence. They had 3 children: Claira and Ernest (Twins) and Herbert - who was a japanesse prisoner of war. As far as i know Alice married before 1901 but i can't find any information about this. Florence married Frederick Rider(1878)in Leeds in 1898. They had a son named Joseph (1899). I also know that Mary Ellen Balmforth died in 1898 and Thomas remarried to a lady named Betsy who was born in Barnby, Lincolnshire. Anybody who can expand on the information i have found out or can tell me anything about Emily Balmforth, please get in touch. Thank You. Sue. |
