My great-grandfather was William Frederick Barton, born in Liverpool in 1894, but emigrated to Canada before 1915. He joined the Canadian Forces in 1915, was stationed here in England for a while, then served in France where he was killed in action in September 1916. His parents were William Frederick Charles Barton and Elizabeth (nee Lemon). Elizabeth was still alive in 1916 and living in Walton, but I believe she too emigrated to Canada shortly after 1916. Apart from my great-grandfather, there was also a daughter, Margaret?, who worked in London as a nurse and maybe other siblings. If anyone out there can connect to this family I'd be happy to hear from you. Thanks, Carole |
