My ggaunt married Charles Bentley. She subsequently remarried following his death in the flu epidemic. She was found dead in a canal in Stoke on Trent around 1920. Anybody have any idea of when she died?

Presumably you know when she was born, so the age at death on the index will help yuo to identify the correct entry.

Obviously her name would not be Bentley...............

Unless you know who she remarried and therefore her name when she died, I don't know how you are going to find her.

There is this marriage in Stoke on Trent although it is a bit later than 1920:

Yes I have, as yet it was unsuccesful. I cannot see the BMD as I am not a member to see them.

It would have helped greatly if you could have mentioned her married name at the start...

Then we wouldn't have wasted time and effort looking for marriages for her!

Sorry, I am all pretty new at this! Thanks so much for all the help! I had only just discovered her new married name whilst doing the messages.

Don't worry, we were all new once and all made mistakes.

It's just that sometimes people use their credits (which costs them money) looking for info that the person already knows but didn't bother or forgot to mention in their original request. It can be annoying knowing you have been looking for something that is already known, and possibly spending money in the process.

There isn't a marriage on FreeBMD for a Bentley to a William between 1910 and 1930 in Staffordshire.

Following my research it seems Louisa married someone called George Jones in Shelton, St Marks Church, Stoke on Trent on december 1921.
I think she died between 1922 and 1935.
Anyones thought or help or ideas would be appreciated.
