Could Dorothy's surname have changed at some point eg born under mother's maiden name, or mother remarried? |

Looks like Dorothy Eleanor V Guy might just have been a co-incidence after all. |

Looks like the 1899 Dorothy was a twin |

Thanks so much guys, however I'm not sure if Dorothy Eleanor V Guy is the same as my Dorothy (Dorothy Eleanor Victoria Bower). She is listed as a spinster on this marriage certificate. |

If the death that Mary has posted is the correct one, then you Dorothy was born in 1897. She would have been unlikely at the time of her, to be making herself older than she actually was. So I think that Dorothy Guy is unlikely to be your Dorothy. |

Hi rootgatherer, I'm afraid I don't have access to the 1911 records so I really don't know. Thanks for your assistance though - seems my Dorothy Bower is something of a mystery figure!! |

That's the software that I use and am quite happy with it. If you shop in Tesco and have Clubcard vouchers, you can get the Family Treemaker 2010 for £15 worth of vouchers. It comes with a 6 month free subscription to Ancestry.co.uk |

Thanks very much for the link - that is such a good deal! Unfortunately I believe we have just spent the last of our Tesco vouchers on a baby monitor (while the double rewards deal was on!). I will check :) |
