Hi Trying to locate my g g grandfather called Charles Albert Bristow. Born around 1865 in London at a guess or at least certainly living there by the time of his daughters wedding in 1907. One known fact is that he was a policeman.

Hi June,
Much thanks for all of your research. I am waiting for the certificate to come back and I do know that his wife's name was Eliza. I think that the registrar at his daughter's marriage must have been hard of hearing because it definitely says policeman, but I do agree all census info that I have seen says potman!

Charles Albert Bristow was the son of Thomas George Bristow and Lydia Harris. Charles is the brother to my great great grandmother Caroline Bristow who married Lewis Thomas Lines. There are 9 children in this marriage including Caroline and Charles.

Charles was a porter and a postman. He married Eliza Lenton on the 19 May 1878 and they had the following children: Rosetta/Roseita/Rosella born 1879, Charles Albert born 1880, Alice Maud born 1883, Frederick born 1884, George born 1887 and Edith May born 2 Apr 1891.

Edith May married Robert George Thompson in 1907 and had 4 children and she died in 1971.

I can go further back and a somewhat forward. I have also tried to chase the exact burial area of Thomas George Bristow but as of yet the records have no direction but I have been to the church where he is buried.
