I am trying to find out more about Marrone Burton born in Leith/Glasgow circa 1823. I believe Marrone appears on the 1841 Scottish Census with her mother Margaret Burton born circa 1800 and some of her siblings.
I think she may have married a man with the surname of Wilson around 1843 in Scotland. On the 1851 English Census Marrone appears as Marrone Wilson with her daughter Janette (born in Scotland) and Elizabeth (born in Pancras, London).

If anyone has access to the Scottish records, any info you can provide would be much appreciated.

I have tried the free search for Marrone Burton on the site but it says there are no exact matches.

You could try FreeCEN - most of RFW, LKS & MLN are transcribed for 1841.

Thanks for all your have found so far.

If you search the 1851 census on Genes and input Elizabeth Wilson, b1846, London it will bring her up. It says Elizabeth's location in 1851 is Ratcliff, Stepney. When you go into the record you will see her mother Marrone Wilson and sister Janette.

Would be very interested to hear if you find Marrone marrying Mr Wilson.

I wonder if these are the same people. Leith and Mearns are opposite sides of the country as Ellen has said. Do you have birth certificates for the 2 girls or anything more on them?

I have no birth certificates but I think my best option would be to order the marriage certificate for James Humphries and Elizabeth Wilson in the hope that it will indicate her father's name.

This looks like a possible marriage for the Marion in the above census. The same marriage as Ellen has already posted. Like Aviegal, I wonder if these are the same Marions?

Also, the 8141 census doesn't give relationships to the Head of Household. There is 8 years between Marion and the next presumed sibling. It is possible that Margaret had been married previously and Marion wasn't born a Burton?
