Hi all, thanks for the replies. I have removed the email address!

All of the above suggestions look right, he was born in Atcham and his middle name was Nicholas (not Nichols as previously posted)

Only thing I'm missing is someone to point me in the right direction of family who are alive!

Thanks again!

You've missed the boat with this one - but the informant could be a living family member.

Inferred County: Shropshire

Hi Mark,

The 'informant' means the person who registered the death. They give the details of the deceased to the registry office for the death certificate.

Often it's a family member - the spouse if they are still alive, or one of the children or their husband/wife, or another relative.

The death cert will have the name, address and connection to the person who has died.

Thanks Janice. How do I get this information?

Janice

Janice Report 14 Aug 2012 23:05

By buying a copy of the death cert.

Here's the site

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

the cost is £9-25

You'll need the reference info posted above.

The below are some half sibling, I knew one of them:

George Nicholas - 1923 - 2006 (confirmed, I knew him), his mothers maiden name was Walton.

I also know that there were a few more (maybe 3).

Many thanks for your help.

Janice

Janice Report 15 Aug 2012 00:13

If you look on FreeBMD for Nicholas births - mother's maiden surname Walton - you'll see 6 registered in Atcham between 1922 and 1932.
