My mother's maiden name was Capon. Her father was Robert Capon and the family was from Red Wharfe Bay in Anglesey where they owned the Ship Inn, though the family had lived in the area prior to that. My grandfather was lost in the North Atlantic convoys when he was torpedoed whilst serving on the Marconi. It is believed in my family that the Capons originally hailed from France via Surrey. |
