My wife's family is Chambers and related to the Thomas Chambers, iron master and farmer, who founded the Newton & Chambers coal and iron company in Thorncliffe, near Sheffield, later Izal, Zal and Jeyes fluid manufacturers. Any information, please, on descendants of that family. My wife's great grandparents were Joseph Chambers b. 1842 Ecclesfield, S. Yorks, and Mary Chambers née Robinson b. Birdwell 1848. Their children were Harry, James, Ann, Polly, Margaret, Ralph, Catherine, Alice, Emma, Sophia, Nancy, Ben, Frank born between 1868 and 1896 at Ecclesfield. Catherine's daughter Miriam Fuller b. 1909 went to New Zealand: there may be family there. |
