Marie Brown. I am trying to find Anything relating to my late grandfather, Rene Clayton. This was not his birth name, he was Ivan Anayanya and came to this country in the late nineteenth century . He was from a circus background and after coming to Britain he worked for Mr. Bostock of Bostock circuses. He settled in Hamilton and was manager of the Hippodrome theatre there. His wife was Margaret Bulloch from Biggar. Perhaps someone with an interest in circus history can point me in the right direction as to where to begin my search. I know he died in 1938, the year after my birth. |
