Hi Can anyone help please, I'm trying to find a husband and maiden name for Mary Cooley who was born in St Giles in 1830, had 4 children all born in St Giles, Edward Cooley 1858, Elizabeth Cooley 1860, Alice Cooley 1863 and Walter Cooley 1866. According to the 1871 census they lived at 132 DRURY LANE. |

Hi I'm still stuck on Mary, could anyone please take a look at the 1871 census for me and see what it says for condition of marriage, I'm not too sure if it's a w suggesting she was widowed or it's just a squigly line, sorry I'm fairly new to all this, I don't want to be looking for a husband that never existed lol. Any ideas on trying to find her maiden name would be greatfully appreciated, assuming she was married. |

Pretty sure it is a W. By the way, love her occupation - Mangling woman! |

The only way you will find her maiden name is by getting one of the children's birth certs. This could possibly be Alice's reg: |

It is not impossible for a girl to marry at 14 at that time. |
