I am trying to find a Coombes/Coombs family from Fulham. My great grandfather was William Coombs "son of A. Coombs of Fulham" according to the CWGC website who died 2/15/1915 as a result of injuries inflicted during WWI. Here's the problem, when he died all ties to the Coombs family were dropped so my Nan doesn't know anything about her true grandparents and what she did know went with her to the grave. It would be lovely to find out some more information, I am slightly hampered by the fact that I live in the States now and don't have the luxury of visits to the PRO etc. Any and all help is most appreciated. |
