Trying to find Darwin

Hello List, I have been looking for my Ggrandfather Peter Leroy DARWIN for 2 years. He was B. around 1870, married an Anna RAFFETY. They had my Grandfather James Harvey DARWIN in Kansas or Iowa in 1889. I don't know of any sibs. James DARWIN I have found in Idaho and here in Washington State. He died in California in 1956. I have tried to locate James Birth record but have had no luck. I have looked through census, and when I found James it has his parents were from Kansas but on other records I have Iowa. Is there any kind soul who can help me on this list I would love it. Thank you for your time. Darlene DARWIN |
