Find Ancestors

I am trying to find information on Dorothy Daisy Davis - born 21st April 1900 - died 18th April 1983.
Famliy faded memory has her having Welsh connections - being born there or having Welsh parents, but in early age moving probably directly to London. But maybe elsewhere on route.
I know it is in London that she meets her Husband William George Cload, and I believe she is living there at that time.
I have tried the usual searches in BMD and Census returns but the combination of a comman name and absent family memories or records has left this as a tantalizing gap in my research and I would appreciate any help you good GR folks can offer in finding her and her parents / siblings etc. Thanks!

This lady is my father-in-law's mother, but he has a terrible memory for family details and he has not even got a picture of her let alone any real records. As he is an only child I have no one else to ask and had to take it as read that he had got her name right!

I think I have some certificates to order to confirm things... hopefully I can get that branch of the family going. (I have done much better with the paternal line and my own family)

I have recently been given access to some documents that turned up in a massive tidy of my FiL's house...

I now have a Birth cert for Dorothy - which name her father as William Llewellyn Davies and her mother as Elizabeth Helen Main
and a marraige cert for those two, Married on the 1st Aug 1886 in Parish Church St Woolos Holy Trinity, Monmouth.

It apears the folks you found before are not my family...
Again I am hitting a dead end... any ideas? Thanks...

What is Williams occupation on Dorothys birth and what is the address please?
What age does it give for Elizabeth and William on the marriage cert and their fathers names and their address?

Got Marriage Cert of William Ll Davies and Elizabeth H. Main from Bernards Documents file. Lists William Ll Davies as a Puddler? in 1886
I have William being born about 1866.
Father is listed as Thomas Davies (weaver)

E.H.Main born Aug 1865 (not got an exact date) Father listed as Samuel Main (milker) on M. cert.from Bernards docs file

Dorothys B. Cert is water damaged and is mostly illegable so I have nothing else I can add. Sorry.

The two witnesses on William LL Davies and E.H. Main MC are listed as Henry Richard Main and Mary Gregory.

I am beginning to think there was something of a split in the family hence why he is laying no claim to Dorothy and her apparent disaperance in 1901.? And following on why we have so little about that line of the family.
