Any Dickinsons out there who could related to my grandmother - Ellen or Helen Dickinson? She had brothers named Ernest, Harry, Albert, and a sister in law Harriet who was a large jolly lady known as Auntie Hart! They lived in the Barnes/Hammersmith/Thornton Heath/Norwood areas - my grandmother married an Irishman named James Gale - my mother Amy Gale was born in Barnes in 1906 and they lived near Ritherdon Road(spelling?) My mother married Vernon Grove from the village of Send in Surrey.I know one of my mother's cousins was Winnie who went to live in Birtle , Manitoba, Canada. I am ashamed to say I know very little about my mother's side of the family except that they were reasonably well off. My grandmother Gale lived her last years in a village called Send, near Woking in Surrey. Any takers? Love to hear from you if you think you know the branch of Dickinsons I mean. |
