I am trying to find information on Harry Morley Dobson who sailed to Australia in 1922 with his wife Winifred Ada, children Winifred Lydia Primrose, Stanley Harry, Ronald Hubert and Dorothy Pearl. I believe Harry was born about 1891.

Does anyone have any information on the family after they arrived in Sydney? Or can you point me in the right direction to find out about them please?

I noticed there is a Genes Reunited in Australia and clicked on there but I don't think it took me to that site - am I correct in thinking I have to sign up to that separately or can I get to it from my membership on here?

His daughter Dorothy is listed as his 'Next of Kin" so the death of Winifred is probably that of his wife..

I also checked to see if Harry re-married from 1938 to end of access in 1958.
There was a marriage for a Harry in 1940, buy if that was your Harry his wife would have been listed as his "Nextr of Kin" on service records

I will now go away and digest it all, then pass it on to a relative who is also extremely interested in this part of our family.

Is it a secret where you all get the info. from or can anyone find it? I have put searches into google etc and not come up with any of this!!!!

The 3rd sentence begins.. You may search for service record... click on 'name' which is underlined and will take you to the next page.
Enter details of who you are looking for ....

Births, deaths & marriages in NSW are accessed at
www.bdm.nsw.gov.au

Australian death certificate usually have a lot of extra info., including a list of children and their ages at the time of the death.
You can also order certificates from this site..
Although, there are transcription services which are cheaper.
One such is Joy Murrins (google her)
Have not used her myself, but others here on GR have.

Next, the newspapers..
Again have not done so myself, only know from what others have said, but..

the dates from 1978 to 2009, and click 'search'

When the info appears, the newspapers name is in blue, click on it, hopefully that will take you to the papers 'home' page and you can request the death notice details. I do not know what this costs.

I am with findmypast and the Genealogist but I'm sure they don't have the electoral roll on their sites.

Costs vary with type of membership.

However they do have a 14 day trial, just sort out all you need to find (or check) and wait till you know that you will have some uninterupted time and 'attack' their site.

The electoral roll info is only fron 1901 to 1936.
However NSW only has 1930 & 1936
Other states have other years.
