Trying to find Dodds

Hi there, i am tracing my ancestry and have come across a glitch. I have been searching for one of my ancestor's details for some time now and am hoping that someone out there can help. Her name was Elizabeth Dodds and she was born around 1855-56 in Limehouse, London (according to the censuses), she had a younger brother named John Dodds Born approx 1859-60, also born in Limehouse, London. BUT here is the problem, there is absolutely no birth record for either of them, which leads me to believe they could be illegitimate children, there is a marriage certificate for Elizabeth Dodds to a George Lovegrove - they married in 1876 at St Mary, Spring Grove (Now Osterley) Middlesex. The had 2 Children together (Harriet & Annie Lovegrove) and she died as Elizabeth Lovegrove in 1891. My problem is that without a birth record / certificate for Elizabeth Dodds i cannot continue to trace this line as i do no know who her parents were. Can someone help with this? Thank you. Helen
