I am desperately trying to find any information about MARY EMMA DODMAN born in Rochdale 12/6/1899. Mother was Mary Dodman father not given on birth cert. In 1901 she was on the census at James St with Joseph Turton (age 39 born in Wolverhampton), Mary Dodman mother),Harold Turton Dodman (brother bn 3/4/1896)and she has another initial possibly a J or T before Dodman.I strongly suspect that Joseph was her father. Now this is the last trace I can find of her. Harold died in Newcastle Upon Tyne UK in1989. However we still cannot find Mary Emma. In the local directories Joseph Turton has gone from James St by 1902, and apparently from Rochdale. Her mother married in 1927 to Benjamin Harrison in the same area of Rochdale, but between 1904/6 and 1927 there is no eveidence of her or the daughter. The Mother and Benjamin Harrison lived in Ogden St Rochdale from before 1927 to at least 1938. I cannot find a death or marriage for this lady, and Barnados have no record. Can anyone help? Alison Unwin |
