Yes thats my John Duffy and his wife on the 1911 Census. I do have my details on Ancestry so more than likely is my tree.

I can find John on the 1901 Census with his wife but other than that I am stuck.

The mlitary angle was one I hadn't explored.

I was clutching at straws really. Just an avenue I hadn't investigated.

Should I then assume he didn't go to war. Could he not have been on leave to get his Mrs pregnant?

Did they have leave when they were fighting the Germans ??

I dont know really, unless you have family stories saying he was I would think he was at home with wife and kids

Thanks for your input. I think I'll assume he didn't go to war.

As a steelworker it is quite likely he was needed in England.
