Find Ancestors

Hi everyone,

Is anyone able to spare a 1911 Census look up or any lookup to get me started on a new line of my tree (courtesy of my mum) who has provided me with very scanty information.
My grandfather, Sidney Charles Martin was born 1910 in Woolwich. I want to find out more about his family but all I have is his father Edwin Martin, (who had a brother Alfred who served in WW1 and was a Lft Lt Commander who jointly invented the paravene mindsweeper), and Sidney's mother Annie Sarah Martin. Besides my grandfather Sid, Edwin and Sarah had other children. Edward (Ted), Annie, Richard, Alice & Another (Twins died), my grandad Sidney Charles, then Edna & Fred (Twins) and lastly Freda (not sure if this is actually Fred).

One address I have for the family is 1 Foliot Street, East Acton (no idea when). Also my grandad Sidney was apparently born above Plumstead Fire Station.

Can you see why I'm confused?

I have decided to begin with ordering old Sid's birth certificate and move on from there, but any info before then would be gratefully received.

Thankyou liz47. I did try myself but wasn't successful with finding out anything out with ANY of my research, don't know what Im doing wrong. Similarly, I haven't been successful in trying to do a Census look up on the street Foliot St, East Acton! Maybe its cos at the moment Im trying to do it for free. Next week my mum's paying for the FTM with 6months free subscription to Ancestry, so maybe my search will take off next week.

this site is free and you can get the 1881 census too. The other info might not always be so accurate as anyone can submit info about a family, that said there is a lot of good stuff to be found for FREE!!
