hi,
yes there seems to be alot of us in west winch and thats proving a problem too me, being a newbie is so tough. especaially when the family are so big in such a small village placing them correctly is proving very difficult.
i myself live just 3miles from west winch and many of these places are still lived in today!!
why is every male john or william and nearly every woman is sarah this doesnt help my frazzled brain at all!! ha ha

Tasha

In 1841 ages were mostly rounded up/down to the nearest 5. This could explain the difference.

In 1851 all the family are down as born West Winch. John Snr is a Turnpike labourer, John Jnr a labourer.

You will need to search parish records for John and Janes's marriage

GillianMac

GillianMac Report 27 Sep 2008 19:07

And it seems likely you need to seek two marriages as Jane is somewhat young to be the mother of all the children
First marriage seems to be
John Aylmer to Sar Ann Reyner 6/11/1834 St George Tombland

You need to buy the certs. You could be following the wrong line if you dont have the proof.
