Had Doris been married before, perhaps?

Are the children registered under James with MMN Davies?

One or t'other very likely married before.

There are two Percy J Field marriages in Lambeth, in 1921 and 1924. He might have been still married.

If Doris Davies had been married before, she would have married under that surname -- or been unable to marry (too).

Did she have a middle initial?

Re the missing "Field" ... you saw the surname when you posted on the Field "surname board". Everybody else sees your post on the general TTF board, where the surname doesn't appear, and has no way of tracing the post back to a surname board.

Now you can join the rest of us who hate this stupid system.

Thank you Evie i didnt know that

Davies was her Maiden name on both birth Certs so i dont think she was married before
We did think he prob had been but unless i can be sure of DOB for Doris and Percy i am stuck

Doris was in service in 1931 in Stoke on trent ( from Don's birth cert ) and thats about the only thing we can be sure of

You could take a stab at finding relations of the PJF who married Sugden and the PJF who married Field (edit - meant Brown, of course).

For Field-Sugden, there are two births (FreeBMD has the complete set):
James S 1925
Edith M 1927

For Field-Brown, there are unfortunately too many possibilities. The various births in Wandsworth 1920-1927 might be worth looking at.

If you could find those couples' descendants, they might know what their PJF got up to in later life. ;)

If your info about the year of death is correct, and Percy died in Wandsworth district, his birth is recorded as being 7 Nov 1892.

But that info is only 'as known' to the person registering the death, so may not be accurate

But this reg'n matches the death reg'n info

Births Dec 1892 (>99%)
Field Percy James Lambeth 1d 450

When did Doris die?

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 24 Mar 2009 00:10

Clever Ric. I kept meaning to ask about date of death, to see whether a date of birth was associated, and then I couldn't figure out how you knew what it was.

And there it is right there in the header. Stardate 11972. ;)

Hello Kathy, Its been a couple of years since this message was posted and its doubtful if Julie is still checking for replies.

It would be better if you clicked on her name and sent your message that way. If she still has the same email address, she will be notified. Regards. Cx.

...by the way, it would be better if you could click on Edit and remove your email address as this is not a totally secure site and GenesR prefer that no personal email address are posted. Thanks. Cx
